Project 365 Day #128
“Coconut” from the album Nilsson Schmilsson, released in 1971
I first heard this song when I saw Reservoir Dogs, the Quentin Tarantino classic which is a remake of Ringo Lam Ling-tung’s even more classic City on Fire.
The movies are cool. I am a movie fan who grew up in the 90s so, you know, obviously I like them both to varying degrees. But I have to say Tarantino’s soundtrack game is — and always has been — straight fire.
This is evident in his use of this silly, gimmick song “Coconut” in Reservoir Dogs.
It’s just fun, you guys. It’s just fun.
