“Fun Lovin’ Criminal” from the album Come Find Yourself, released in 1996

This is one of those songs that should be more popular than it is. Hell, this is one of those bands. With an almost unquantifiable sound and look, the band could be at home watching the Rat Pack in a smokey bar in Vegas or at a beach barbecue Sublime concert in Hollywood. They’re the 90s. But they’re also something older than that. Dare I say, something classier?

Maybe that isn’t the right word. But that’s part of their charm, isn’t it? Anyway, “Fun Lovin’ Criminal’ is their signature song. It’s rap. Kind of? It’s rock. Kind of. But it does not fit into that rap/rock genre the late 90s birthed.

It’s unique and worth a listen or two or three or more…
