Donald Glover is the complete package. Sometimes famous actors dabble in music and fail. Sometimes famous musicians dabble in acting and fail. Does Glover ever fail? In everything from Solo to Community to Atlanta to every damn album he’s ever released, he’s the best.
“Freaks and Geeks” is just more evidence of this.
With a clear, strong voice, a wild rhyme skill, a creative word play, and a beat that just makes you want to dance, “Freaks and Geeks,” for all of its misogyny and bluster, is a good song. It’s the voice of a frustrated boy on the verge of manhood. Is it honorable? No. Is it honest? Yes.
It can’t be denied.
It’s science.
