“He Went to Paris” from the album A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean, released in 1973

Let’s take it down a notch, shall we? With it’s smooth, simple melody, “He Went to Paris” does just that. That said, one of my favorite things about this song is the storytelling aspect. Each verse recounts another chapter in a man’s life. He has ups, he has downs, and he lives. Through a very specific series of events, Buffett offers us a universally appealing story: the story of life. It’s sometimes sad and sometimes happy and ultimately all any of us can do is just go with it.

On a side note, while I am no Parrot Head, Jimmy Buffett concerts are just great big parties in which everyone is chill.

Highly recommend at least checking it out once.
