This might not be a popular opinion but “Ray of Light” is my favorite Madonna song. She has quite a few bangers. She is one of the greats. She embraces the time she’s in.
This means, naturally, in the late 1990s, she played with techno sounds while being sure to include her very Madonna lyricism and voice prevelant to the overall feel of the song.
“Ray of Light” showcases not only Madonna’s musial skill, but her pop culture skill as well. It proves, more than most of her work, that not only does she embrace the time she’s in, but she she speaks to it to.
