“Same Old Lang Syne” from the album The Innocent Age, released in 1981

People often forget that the end of the year, Christmastime, is a time to look back on the past, a time to come to terms with all of the good and bad that has come before. In other words, it is a time to go over the stories of your life.

Dan Fogelberg does not forget this. Something else he does not forget is that looking back on all of the stories, learning from all them, and understanding all of them can be good.

Really, we are only stories. Fogelberg takes the time with “Same Old Lang Syne” to learn from his. When he does this, his world might become a little bit sadder, but it also becomes little bit warmer.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
