I mean, come on, you knew this one was going to show up on this list somewhere, right? If you’ve been with me this whole time, you had to have known.
This is the Generation X Christmas song. Other generations have claimed it the way other generations have claimed Mariah Carey (I’m looking at you Gen Z and Millennials), but it hit the airwaves in 1994, when most of us GenXers were in our teens or early twenties, so, you know, it’s ours.
You guys can listen to it. Hell, I encourage you to listen to it, to enjoy it, to play in the Christmasy goodness that is this song. Just understand, it, just like Carey, is a Gen X original.
