In 1996 I was learning how to be a grown up and failing over and over again. Real talk? This continued for something like seven years. Counting Crows’ somber song about the end of the year and the beginning of another one, a song about regret and hope, a song about struggles, sorrow, and how hard it can be to be a human during the holidays.
Is it a Christmas song? Kind of. Is it a good song to listen to on the last day of the year as we look toward a new one?
Absolutely.
