“Flagpole Sitta” from the album Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?, released in 1997

This post-grunge anthem made it to number three on the Billboard Modern Rock Charts. In the olden days when it was released, we did not have Spotify or any other streaming services. So if we liked a song we either had to purchase the CD or hope to God it would play on whatever radio station we were tuned into.

I was a praying man and at the time this was one of the songs I prayed for. It is a rambunctious and rebellious song that tells its listeners you can shout at the man and have fun at the same time. In many ways, Harvey Danger and this son in particular is like Rage Against the Machine’s smartass little brother.

Gotta love that.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
